Spaghetti Cake

This is supposed to be posted after April Fools Day but apparently, I have been hanging out lately with my best friend PROCRASTINATION. Recently, I have been hooked in looking at YouTube videos about making desserts that look like savory dishes like hamburgers made from cookies (you get the idea) . There are tons of videos in YouTube that shows tutorials on how to make them and feeling inspired, I made this spaghetti cake last week.

Assembling this cake is easy and you really do not
need to follow an exact recipe. You can make
your cake and your frosting from scratch or you can buy them from the grocery – whichever works best for you.  For this cake I used the following ingredients to assemble this cake.

Spaghetti Cake

Scraps of leftover vanilla cake
Strawberry jam for the filling
Butter cream  frosting
Strawberry gelatin for the red sauce
Maltesers chocolates for the meatballs
Mint leaves

Assembling this cake is so easy and you really just need to rely on your creativity for this one. Layer the scraps of vanilla cake and put strawberry jam for each layer. Pipe the butter cream frosting on top of the layered vanilla cake. Put the cake in the fridge for at least an hour. This will make the butter cream harden and it will be easier to pour  the strawberry gelatin on top.

After an hour, put several maltesers on top of the hardened butter cream and slowly pour cooled strawberry gelatin on top to mimic the tomato sauce. Place inside the fridge for another hour. For the final presentation, you can add mint leaves or shavings of
white chocolate on top.

Notes:

* Make sure that you put the cake inside the fridge after piping the butter cream. If you skip this part and directly add your gelatin, the butter cream will melt and you will end up with a messy cake disaster.
* To create the textured look for the strawberry gelatin, constantly stir the gelatin to break to prevent it from forming into a thick sheet.
